My daughter is rushing at UF. I was in a UF sorority that you all call Top Tier.
I will be sooo upset if my sorority drops my daughter.
So, before you drop that legacy, think about it!

Most sororities have their legacy policies available online. Many have eliminated the biggest special considerations that legacies got in the past...topping bid lists, etc. A lot of these moms are probably unaware of these policy changes, and will be expecting the extra special treatment of the past.

Oh, I am "the worst"... Boy, you are a classy bunch.
My daughter has the looks to get a bid at any of the top houses, believe me. And I've spoken to her, in that I want her to find a house SHE likes. She has friends from high school, church, or sports in ADPi, DDD, DG, KD, KKG, DZ, PiPhi and cousins in KD, DDD, PhiMu.
One of those I mentioned was my house, where I was initiated. I will be very upset if they drop her, and I do expect a call. Not to explain why, but just out of common courtesy.
I know about the number of legacies - when I was a collegian, we had 50 legacies rushing even back then.
I'd love to see you all, 20-25 years from now, when your precious legacies are rushing. You have no idea.

Why do you think you and your daughter are so entitled? This is what kills me. Being a legacy entitles you to NOTHING more than greater consideration and courtesy calls to mom/sister/grandma/etc if dropped. Just because she's a legacy doesn't mean she gets a bid. And yes, helicopter moms are the worst. Get off a website for college kids and let your college kid do her own thing without you saying "you better not drop my legacy!" Because reality is she might be a bad fit and in that case sorry she's getting dropped. The girls currently in the sorority know much better than you. And your comment about her having the looks for too tier just makes you sound so incredibly conceited. Girls in houses in every tier are gorgeous.

The reality is that your daughter will NOT get ANY special consideration from many houses if she is a legacy. You will also NOT get a call from us or anyone else if she is dropped. Actually, we do not really care how you feel. The KD alums from UF got very upset last year because their daughters were dropped because they were not KD material. They all cried to Nationals and Nationals did not care....KD Nationals even has a new printed policy out that says you WON't be called and legacies do NOT matter....deal with it Moms!!!
