Yes and no. No harder to get a bid from those houses than any other. Every house has only so many spots and the same number of spots so you techilnicaly have the same odds of getting into ADPi as AEPhi. If girls would stay in rush all the way through then there would be more spots for everybody. The problem is that everyone goes in thinking they should be given a bid from those houses and think they are too good for the others. "Don't feel comfortable in x house" is sometimes a nice way to say "I think I am too pretty for that house" But if all the pretty girls would just stay then every house would have pretty girls. It only seems like it is harder to get a bid because they cut more after the first rounds.But in the end every house has the same number of girls on their lawn at bid day

Getting into a 'top' house is competitive, but it is NOT the end all be all. There are middle and low end houses that have wonderful girls, friendships and sisterhoods. Go in with an open mind.
I did not care if I got a bid from a top, mid or lower as long as I felt wanted and comfortable. I'm in what is considered a lower middle house and absolutely love it.

Odds of getting into gphi now are the same as getting into any other house...top included.

As long as you're normal, do what the pi chis tell you, and don't sabotage yourself (purposefully act rude in a house, or over obsessed with one) you should get a bid somewhere. Also if you make it to prefs and write all of your final houses on the sheet (aka don't suicide) I'm like 99.999999% you're guaranteed to get a bid to one of those houses.

How often does someone not get a bid anywhere? I mean I know like four different people who didn't get a bid. I mean I guess they could be interpreted as quiet or abrasive but they're mostly people I've been able to talk to. I feel like they're definitely cute enough to have gotten a bid. So what's up with that? Why do some girls just get lost in the shuffle? How can no sorority want them?

You are right, some people definitely get dropped from every house. Rush is not a perfect process and there is a tremendous number of girls going through in a fairly short period of time. Sometimes really good girls slip through the cracks. That same girl could go through the next year and get a bid. There is an element of luck too, depending on who you end up talking with and whether or not you click with them. However, if you are decent looking, do not have terrible grades, can make good conversation, and you go in with an open mind regarding where you might end up, you improve your odds considerably for getting a bid.
