Rerushing sorority

by: Blueberry

Does anyone know if any houses here have a rule against girls rerushing for a second time? I’ve heard of sororities having a blacklist for girls who were cut. If I want to rush again as a sophomore in the fall will having rushed as a freshman hurt my chances?

Re-Rushing doesn’t hurt your chances as long as you didn’t do the following:

- Took a bid from a sorority: If you took a bid from a sorority the likelihood of you being asked back by that sorority is slime to none. I mean why would they want you to potentially say no again.

- Talked badly about a sorority or many sororities: If you made bad remarks about specific sororities you will most likely get dropped from them after the first round. Also, you may get dropped from more if the sorority you spoke badly about shares that information to others.

- Grades don’t meet the requirement: Just cause you made the grades coming from high school DOES NOT mean they will still take those grades. Those are no longer valid, so make sure you meet the requirements before wasting the money on signing up!

You should be fine though! Just a heads up, if you’re rushing again because you didn’t get the sorority you wanted the first time around don’t be so confident you’ll get them this time! A lot of girls do this and get disappointed. If you want success at doing that, your best bet is waiting for COB opportunities. Realistically though, you shouldn’t beg for them to choose you! What’s meant for you will happen for you!!

You will never regret trying again! Make sure your grades are great. Research each group and talk about how you can be an asset. And keep an open mind. Each group has strengths and each group has bull**** you’ll never know about until after you’re initiated. What are your goals? If you’d like to hold office or even be chapter president some day, a smaller group mathematically better odds. Emphasize how much you love ksu.
