You can absolutely tell actives that you love their chapter. I'd suggest telling them what specifically you like about their chapter: sisterhoods, philanthropy, academic plan, etc. Just don't do it in a way that would make us feel uncomfortable (no one wants to get fined for accidentally dirty rushing). If you are still in by sisterhood round, that means they like you enough.

Another way to show interest is to ask specific questions about their chapter. Like new member requirements, leadership opportunities you might want, etc.

of course! that will only help! but don't be offended if they don't necessarily react with anything besides "that's great to hear" or something relatively simply, just because houses won't want to say anything that would make you feel as did they are definitely taking you or giving you a bid (dirty rushing)
