by: ConfusedWhy are frats that have been kicked out (TKE, Sammy, etc) still considered relevant, especially in the eyes of sorority women? Those frats were kicked off for good reasons, mainly to protect female students. sororitys that still try to do events with them and anyone who still considered them a relevant part of Greek life are only helping perpetrate a culture that is dangerous for women and just plain wrong. It is up to us as sorority women to stand up for each other and demand respect. This can only start by holding fraternities accountable for their actions. All of these frat rankings where frats who have been kicked off are still considered relevant just goes to show how little frats are held accountable and enough is enough.

this is so dumb. yes they got in trouble but the actions of a few men doesn't represent the entire chapter? so girls cant be friends with the guys who probably didn't even participate or better yet you frat friends just didn't get caught. Pipe down and realize you actually aren't in charge here

Were going to go to the parties our friends are at whether you like it or not sorry hun. When I go to off campus parties Im more scared of the KD girls there and other narcs that for some reason care what I do, more than the guys there. Off campus houses are just a part of greek life now, Sammy is off campus and they had a Pc of like 36 last semester, the largest of any frat on or off campus.

Im gonna go ahead and assume whoever wrote this doesn’t actually know any of the guys in these frats and just makes wild assumptions based off reputations. I cant speak for Tke but Sammy and Aepi both have some of the nicest and friendliest guys Ive met in greek life and have become some of my best friends. Demonizing these frats based on rumors you hear and telling other girls not to go to their parties based on false rumors is just childish. Sammy was kicked off for hazing, something almost every frat here does so why are they any worse? Just worry about yourself and stop trying to control what other girls do with their college experience because guess what, if you dont like them no one is making you go to their events!

rule #1 should be not to get your facts from the lantern considering it’s a pathetic student run product who at one time had less followers on social media than the fake lantern, which essentially clowned the publication itself and its reporting style. it’s a sure bet no one who writes for them has clue about the culture of the greek houses they are clearly trying to slander

Do you know what it takes for a fraternity to get in trouble today? If a new member in any fraternity gets written up in a dorm for any alcohol based behavior (whether they drank at any bar or by themselves) the fraternity they are in gets in months of trouble for "hazing" and potentially kicked off. This has nothing to do with pro sorority stuff. Get your facts straight before you talk on things like this. The school is just trying to get rid of liability so they don't get sued like Penn State did. We all need to stick together and hang out with whoever we want to hang out with and not let the school ruin our college experience. This post right here is a pure example of letting the school win.
