alpha phi

by: Pnm

I had a really good conversation at Alpha Phi and I felt like me and the girl made a genuine connection, but I was dropped. I was super upset bc I loved APhi and rally saw myself in it. Does anyone have some insight into how/who Alpha Phi calls back girls?

That is ritual-based and private.

Compared to the other PNMs, you did not meet their cutoff on who to invite back. One 15-30 minute conversation with one member does not mean you fit in to their chapter, it just means you had a friendly conversation.

PNMs, please do not take getting cut personally, especially from competitive sororities. They have to cut a large number of PNMs and it does not mean they dislike you as a person. Cuts have to happen somewhere. You'll learn next year.

Sororities have to rank PNMs so in addition to the conversation: there are other factors like legacy ties, GPA, recommendations etc. The more popular the sorority is, the more they have to cut. Don’t take it to heart. There are awesome sororities at OSU regardless of what contributors to this site have you believe. Keep with it!! Bid day is sooo worth it!

As actives, our role is to have good conversations with PNMs, even if we don't think you'd be a good fit for the chapter. If you think there was a connection, it means we're doing our jobs right. Would you prefer for us to be cold or rude to you if we think you'd be a better fit somewhere else?

And just because we don't think you'd be a good fit in our chapter doesn't mean we don't like you as a person. I have plenty of friends in other chapters and clearly we were chosen by different houses.
