Yes but you HAVE to drop before initiation. Once you officially join you can not just switch over. If you don't like the group then don't join in the first place since you will still have to pay dues etc

It's really awkward when you go through formal rush and 1) you have to go back to that house and 2) other houses will likely know that you accepted a bid this semester so you'll look flakey.

If you do ever accept a bid and drop, either drop out before pledging or don't go through recruitment again.

It will be awkward going through winter formal as others have said, but if you are truly not happy (not just being close-minded or not giving that house a chance) but really really feel uncomfortable and don't want to be a part of it, definitely drop as soon as possible. you don't want to be stuck somewhere where you don't feel like you can be yourself or it's a toxic environment for you. That being said, definitely try it out and it's very possible to find a group of people you fit with in every chapter here.
