Perched on the bluffs above Malibu, Pepperdine is a small private university with a strong Christian identity, and the Greek system here reflects that context in some interesting ways. The school is affiliated with the Churches of Christ, which shapes campus culture broadly — think dry events, a focus on service, and a generally tighter-knit social environment than you'd find at a big state school.

IFC and Panhellenic both operate on campus, covering a solid lineup of well-known national fraternities and sororities. Alpha Tau Omega, Sigma Chi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Psi Upsilon, and Delta Tau Delta represent the fraternity side. On the Panhellenic side, you've got chapters like Alpha Phi, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Pi Beta Phi. Because Pepperdine's total undergraduate enrollment is relatively small, the Greek community is more intimate than what you'd see at a large state university. Recruitment follows the standard Panhellenic and IFC formats, with formal recruitment for sororities and a somewhat more informal process on the fraternity side. The overall size of the system means you're likely to get to know people across multiple chapters pretty quickly, and the connections tend to run deeper than at schools where Greek life is more anonymous.
