how to pref when i have 1st and last choice?
by: So confusedGoing into pref Round, I have my 1st choice and my last., a group I dropped in the beginning, that added me back. The conversations were awkward and there were no connections in any round. I don’t know why they would want me because neither side showed any interest in the last 2 rounds. Did they keep everyone? How does Pref round work? What if I’m 60 on my first choice, but 59 on my last? Does my ranking matter?

Let's say quota is 60. If you are in the top 60 for your first choice sorority ABC, you will be matched with ABC. In this case it doesn't matter where you are on the list for your second choice XYZ. Even if you aren't in the top 60 for ABC, you might still match with them depending on how far down the list you are. If ABC fills quota before they get to you (maybe you were like #100), then the computer will try to match you with XYZ using the same process.

This is accurate. The sorority ranks every single girl that came through pref round. Ideally for the chapter, if every girl in their top 60 ranks them first then those are the girls that receive bids. But let's say 20 of those girls receive bids to a different sorority that they ranked higher- then the bid list moves down to girls 61-80 on their list. If, say, 5 of those girls receive & accept bids to a different sorority, then girls 81-85 will get bids. And so on. But, because every girl who ranks each of their pref rounds automatically gets a bid, if a girl is at the bottom of both rankings and didn't make either bid list then they will receive a bid to either/or (I'm not sure what the process is in determining which one she gets a bid to, but it probably has to do with meeting or exceeding quota).
