sorority quota explained

by: Quota

So since there are 15 sororities can we assume that quota means every house can extend bids to 6.6% of the PNMs that go through pref night? Also what’s the difference between primary and secondary quota?

Primary quota is freshmen, secondary quota is sophomores. Sororities will extend bids to most of the girls that attend their pref, knowing that roughly 1/3 of the girls there will end up with them due to bid matching and how girls ranked them.

The PNMs have only 2 pref night parties but is that the same for the sororities? I noticed there were more slots during the philanthropy than the PNMs maximum amount of parties (11).

No- sororities have more rounds so that they don’t get overwhelmed during their parties. Let’s say quota is 50, then a sorority will have about 100 girls coming to their pref round- it’s way easier to break that down into 4 groups of 25 than 2 groups of 50. Pref tends to be much quieter and more intimate, so the parties need to be smaller.

This whole process is so confusing

I hate to be that person that says "trust the system" because it's such a cliche at this point, but just let it happen. There are all kinds of lists and numbers and point systems behind the scenes that you don't need to care about unless you're on Panhel or a recruitment chair. If you start getting into percentages and crap you're just gonna overwhelm yourself
