The university cares a whole lot about hazing and alcohol violations and aren’t afraid to put frats on probation, suspend them, or kick them off campus altogether. At the same time they ignore racism and SA. Miami doesn’t always feel like a safe space for marginalized groups.

Greek life runs the social scene, but parties definitely have to compete with a huge bar scene.

Srats don’t have own houses so they just get their own glorified dorms. Frats run the place and only socialize with a few srats with no oversight so you got at least 4-5 srats with no socials. If you don’t get into the top 4 srats not sure going Greek for girls is wise. Not sure what’s the benefit here no house no socials. Spend your money somewhere else.

Sororities here are all very strong and active. No bad sororities. Fraternities very active socially and a lot of fun but compete with a big bar scene. Lots of history. University support though is not great.

MU Greek lame fr frat life going down most don’t rush. The ones that do are bros looking to extend high school. If you want real Greek life experience head to an SEC school or OU

Greeklife at Miami is on the decline. Frats kicked off all the time, and their darties are so mid. Sororities have been crashing and burning too, the girls here are vapid and mean af to the point it’s making girls not even want to rush. Miami used to be famous for having the best greeklife in the Midwest, but now that tittle probably belongs to Illinois, Penn State, or another BigTen school.

It’s good - pretty competitive process - guys in certain frats are hazed pretty harsh but a few top tier ones don’t do it too bad - most sororities don’t formally haze - hard to make friends without joining something unless you’re part of another organization

Greek life at miami is awesome, as long your in an upper tier house. the top 10 frats only mix with the top 8 or so sororities. the rest of the greek orgs either have a mediocre social calendar or do stuff with a lot of geeds. parties are fun but need to happen more often. the huge bar scene conflicts with this. with the amount that the school investigates and punishes frats, it was very suprising that SAE, who made national news and put the school under a lot of scrutiny, was able to essentially pay off the school for a lesser punishment.
