Beta… was I not beta enough?

I went to the beta house in spring trying to rush, thinking they’d be my boys based off of their ig - they looked like lovable, normal fun guys. Anywho, I went and knocked and tried to introduce myself and hand them a cool 6pack of Smirnoff Ice (red white and berry), and the president opened the door and spit in my face and called me a loser. Idk what I did wrong, should I go to events in fall? Please let me know!
