dropping before initiation

by: pledge girl

I accepted a bid to a sorority that I felt okay about, but now I am not too thrilled with the group of girls. How bad would it be if I dropped now and didn't get initiated. I really want to be part of greek life, but don't think I fit in with this group of girls. Would that be a black mark against me if I decided to rush next fall and find a sorority that is a better fit? Would I be able to COB in the spring? Do you know anybody that did that at Clemson and it worked out or didn't work out?

You can't COB in spring. You signed your card so you can't accept another bid until next fall.

Will dropping the sorority now hurt my chances with other sororities during rush? Do many girls drop between bid day and initiation?

Not many drop. It is better to try harder to make it work where you are. Your chances aren't much better the second time around unless you have made tons of friends in another house and they would speak for you during recruitment.
