old frat houses

Did frats have houses back in the day or did they just party on the quad? I know Pikes house was mellow mushroom and AGR bought their house in the seventies. Anybody know who built the kappa sig house or if the whitehouse was always a frat house?

At one point from like 2015 to 2018 Sigma pi was off campus but still had the White House and the compound at the same time
