Phi Tau has definitely stepped it up lately. Their parties have been packed, they’ve been doing bigger events, and bringing out Mike Sherm was crazy. They’re probably one of the most fun houses at CPP right now, and the guys are actually social without being weird.

Phi Tau can make a strong top-house case at CPP because they combine a big social presence with actual chapter accomplishments. They’ve thrown large events, brought in artists like Mike Sherm, have a long history on campus, and Delta Tau has even won Phi Kappa Tau’s national Maxwell Trophy for outstanding chapter. On top of that, they’ve stayed visible through philanthropy, brotherhood, and campus involvement instead of just being known for parties. So the argument is basically: strong socials + recognized brotherhood + national awards + campus history + consistent presence = top-house stat

Super chill vibe, great parties, plenty of women, as of 2024 they are amongs the best on campus and have the oldest house out of any fraternity or sorority.

Phi Tau isn't a terrible frat. After going to some of their parties, they don't prioritize my welfare, especially when my friends and I are freshmen, and are new to campus. I went to a couple of their parties, you could tell that their brotherhood is good, but they aren't the most gentlemen like. I felt a little creeped out, but the party wasn't too bad.

Phi Kappa Tau’s Delta Tau chapter at Cal Poly Pomona can be appealing because it’s an officially recognized IFC fraternity with a long history on campus. The chapter dates back to organizations formed at CPP in the 1950s, giving it established traditions and alumni connections. Joining can offer brotherhood, social events, leadership opportunities, networking, philanthropy, and a stronger sense of involvement on campus. The biggest factor, though, is your personal fit with the members. If you genuinely like the guys, feel respected, enjoy spending time with them, and believe the chapter balances academics and social life well, that matters most.
