What distinguishes AXO's and AGD's from each other? What are some good factors and bad factors of each and which do you recommend?

People are so misguided... every sorority has great qualities and each means something to it's members. Going through recruitment can be a stressful and sometimes upsetting process, but you will find where you belong, and you will love it. You just have to trust in the system.

Which sororities really value philanthropy and other involvement activities?

AXO and AZD are usually considered the most involved with on campus organizations and with Phi Mu, all three are typically most involved with greek events such as greek week and homecoming

ADPi hosts Hoops and Hogs basketball tourny (Ronald McDonald House)
Alpha Phi hosts King of Hearts (Heart disease/APhi Foundation)
AGD has pancake breakfast and some other philanthropy events (Juvenile Diabetes)
AZD has a puzzle event (Autism Speaks)
Phi Mu hosts a tea and desserts in the spring benefitting their philanthropy (Children's Miracle Network)
and Zeta collects pink yoplait lids (Susan G. Komen)

is there spring rush for sororities?

only alpha phi because they're the newest

how does spring recruitment work for alpha phi? like what do you have to do?

You have to wait and see if they're still under campus total in the spring.

Spring rush is not a big thing at Tech and is very informal. If you are planning on rushing, I would absolutely recommend going through recruitment in the fall, because then you'll have the opportunity to see every chapter and find where you fit best. It'll let you make a more educated decision, and you won't have that if you try to wait til spring, as most sororities don't spring recruit, especially as more and more girls go through every year.

There's no reason to give crappy ranks to one or two sororities. Every sorority at Tech as positive aspects. If you are going to rank one, rank them all.
