Here’s the tier deal

Sororities don’t recognize the validity of tiers. And they want to know whether tiers are real or arbitrary. Here’s the deal.
The sorority structure at FSU exactly parallels the FSU fraternity structure. The top tier fraternities and sororities match with each other. The middle tier fraternities and sororities match with each other, and the bottom tiers pair up together. It would be mean to ask the obvious questions, but for instance, when was the last time bottom tier sorority “A” matched with top tier fraternity “B”? And vice versa? The answer is “never”.
If you’re in a sorority and you want to know where your chapter stands tier-wise, ask yourself, “What men from which fraternities hang around our house?”

There are plenty of middle tier Fraternities/Sororities that hang out with “Top Tier” ones. As an example, KD and ADPI (both Top) hang out at KA. Sig Ep and SAE pull a lot of Top Tier pairings too. FSU doesn’t care about this tier stuff. If you are cute, you can hang anywhere.

this is true especially during homecoming, when some sororities would rather pair with each other

Tiers strongly correlate with attractiveness. It could be argued that is what differentiates the tiers.
