question about rush

Hey guys,, long time reader first time poster. I am looking to rush this semester and I think I really like ato. However, I can't figure out if it is pronounced ah-toe or ay-toe. Whenever I ask my non-greek friends they laugh at me and I'm not sure why, and I am too afraid to ask one of the brothers out of fear of looking stupid. Figured you guys could help me out. Thanks!
