snap bids?

Snap bids are very few and far between, so don't count on one. Snap bids are given by sororities who did not take quota at bid matching. They occur during the time after bid matching is completed and before bids are distributed. Girls either get a phone call or are approached in person and then they will run to their houses with everyone else on bid day. PNM's are eligible if they were released or dropped before prefs.

I know someone (this is a 100% fact) that got one today. PNM called her early - it was one that was in the 13-17 group that she has not felt a connection all week, but kept getting back on her visit list. She would not settle, and turned it down.
She made this knowing that she would not settle for what SHE did not feel was a fit, especially when there are so many club opportunities on campus that ARE a better fit.

Sororities giving snap bids vary from year to year.
The beauty of a snap bid, is that just like "Got one today" said, if a PNM is offered a snap bid, she does not have to accept it. The sorority will merely work their way down the list until someone is found who appreciates the opportunity being offered.
FWIW, the sorority kept showing up on the PNM's list because the sororities she could see herself in didn't see it the same way, and Panhellenic tries to make sure each PNM has as full a schedule as possible.

so will they still be given out after bid day like cause some girls drop throughout the week

Snap bids can only be given up until the start of bid day. No more snap bids can be given now. Houses can choose to do COB up to house total which is set by Panhellenic.

And even if a sorority doesn't meet quota, it's not a given they'll take snap bids. They still have to want you.
