Tucked in Denver's University Park neighborhood, DU is a mid-size private university with a Greek system that plays a meaningful role in campus social life without dominating it the way it might at a large state school. The school draws a lot of students from out of state, and for many of them, going Greek is one of the faster ways to build a social circle in a new city.

The system runs through two main governing bodies — IFC for fraternities and Panhellenic for sororities. Overall, Greek life at DU sits somewhere between a niche social option and a mainstream part of campus culture. It's not the only game in town — DU has a strong club sports scene, a ski and outdoor culture that's hard to compete with given the location, and plenty of city life spilling into campus — but the chapters here are active and have been a consistent part of the university's social fabric for a long time.
