Old 6, New 6 - This is the reality. 2026.

Splitting the sorority list perfectly in half. This is based purely on TIME ESTABLISHED at the university:
Old 6 - IN NO ORDER:
Pi Beta Phi
Delta Delta Delta
Chi Omega
Alpha Delta Pi
Zeta Tau Alpha
Kappa Kappa Gamma
These are the oldest 6 sorority houses at Arkansas. They have larger alumni bases and support, so connections matter a bit more.
New 6 - IN NO ORDER:
Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Omicron Pi
Phi Mu
Kappa Delta
Alpha Phi
Delta Gamma
These are the newer houses. All great. Alumni bases are smaller. Connections are not as important.
If you are from Arkansas, already know alumni/actives in the old 6, or are a legacy to one, you will probably have 1-3 old houses and 2-3 new houses during the heart of recruitment week.
If you are OOS, know no one, aren't a legacy to an old 6 house, you will have all the newer houses and 1-2 old houses throughout recruitment week.
Focus on the houses that invite you back and find your home!

I would agree that at least one listed under "new" requires more connections than a couple on the "old" list.

This is a really toxic take. Describing members of a sorority as "pedigree" is just weird and rude. And this poster insults not one, not two, but THREE houses. The old houses have been here longer and weathered all the storms or insults thrown their way. They've always endured, supported other houses, and will continue to build their legacies. The new houses are flourishing, but I would be very wary of joining this poster's house. it gives off weird obsession.

Stop trying to make Arkansas as toxic and exclusive as Alabama. That's so embarrassing of you. Older houses often are the top houses due to earlier establishment, so ofc they need more connections, but UArk newer/lower tier houses are just as great so it actually doesn't matter where you go unless you're hell bent on specific letters etc. Stop trying to make old row vs new row mentality happen you drama monger

someone can't read. the word "row" was never mentioned. basic facts are 6 houses have been on campus significantly longer than 6 other houses. Sharing this information with PNMs is not toxic. sounds like it touched a nerve with you. must be in a newer house.
