I feel for you. It can totally suck. However, you are wanted! You’ve got 4 houses that want you! Are you willing to share where you’re going?

Don’t let this get to you. Easier said than done- reset and don’t look back. The cuts never make sense. You were cut by people who never met you- so it isn’t personal at all.

Those houses you listed have former valedictorians and top tier athletes waiting to meet you. Top qualities! Try not to compare your recruitment with others- bc it will never make sense. Best wishes.

Let me first congratulate you on valedictorian!!! No small feat!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 As a top-10’er of my class and competitive, ambitious student, I know the hard work and dedication that takes, so you have my admiration and respect; And All-State in multiple sports!! That’s awesome!!! All of these four houses will be fortunate to get you whichever you decide to call home. I hear you on the placement rate and misleading information. I agree it seems like that would be more for pref. There probably should be updating of some of the Greek Life information that is put out there both by the University and in general.
When accomplished PNMs get back less houses than expected, it’s going to sting no matter what. I don’t care if you like every house, only a few houses, have great expectations or none- rejection is rejection. We are all human and that feeling sucks if you wanted a house or not - everyone wants to be wanted! No one ever realizes the reality of the Rush crush until they go through and experience it. I’m sorry you had to feel it like this. However, you have four houses that want you! You get the chance to see what these girls bring to the table as much as they see you. It’s back and forth.
Considerations of the four you’re going to: Where do you feel you see yourself and do you like what they do (Philanthropy)/stand for? Would you want to be apart of all that? Do you like their house, do you like how you feel there- does it feel kind of like “home” to you? Do you enjoy talking to the girls and they make you feel like they want you there? These are just a few of the things you may want to ask yourself as you go through. Plus, think about the friendships, the FUN, being apart of a sisterhood like no one else, having pledge sisters to go through it all with, having help with classes, look around at the girls you’re going through and see who you’d be having these experiences with. Not to mention game days! GO HOGS! Social events!
I’m really trying to show you a bunch of positives, is it working? Are you feeling better??

All this to just give you things to look forward to and think about and get excited about and let go of that disappointment because just maybe not going to the other ones is opening up so much more for you at these four!
I truly believe your house is waiting for you and you’ve got this! Leave doubt & discouragement at the door. Smile!, it’s contagious, and you’ll start off great at each house! Rooting for you!!

With those chapters on your schedule you may feel completely different about how your rush is going after you meet some members. Let us know.

coming from a fellow pnm- if it’s any encouragement, tri delt and axo were two of my fav chapters and i got cut from both of them. and i had a friend who felt the same about dg, they were her top house and she got cut. so feel encouraged that they want you!!!! but also it’s so ok to be sad. this process is so weird and i wish panhel could let us meet all 12 houses in-person so cuts would feel a little less unfair.

No thanks needed- well deserved!! I want you to know that you have a lot going for you and the houses you go to are/should be interested in you and getting to know you more because you show great promise as a member in any of those houses!
Congrats on your scholarship!! I am sure it was a fantastic feeling receiving it and accomplishing your goals academically and through sports! Hats off to you!! You’ll be among so many other like minded and passionate girls, so don’t get discouraged or even think bad thoughts!
It’s truly wise to be realistic and have reasonable expectations- this will help with any possible hurt that could come from a cut/release or being torn about a house, but don’t miss out on staying positive & keeping a great attitude in spite of what may happen around you if disappointments come.

If you keep an open mind, show genuine interest in the houses that ask you back, and don’t obsess over houses where you didn’t make the cut, you will be fine.
