Yes, they matter. I had a hard time finding recs for certain houses last year and didn’t have any rec letters for a few houses when I showed up for recruitment. I was cut by the houses I didn’t have recs for.

Need recs: Chi O, Kappa, Pi Phi, Zeta, Tri delt, Phi Mu

Can survive without Recs: KD, Aopi, adpi, axo and dg

Go on the Uark Panhellenic recruitment website and it tells you the guidelines for all houses regarding Recommendation Letters.

One rec per house is fine :). Agree that some houses below the top five will find rec letters for you.
