sorority rush
by: incoming freshmanI’m an incoming freshman and i’m considering rushing but i don’t know much about it. is formal recruitment in spring? what’s the general reputation of sororities? what is recruitment like? what should i expect? i know i asked a lot of questions lol but basically any info will help. thanks so much!

formal recruitment is in the fall which does make it hard for a lot of girls looking to go through recruitment because they're not sure yet if they can handle their freshman year classes and rush. adjusting to jmu is harder for some than others and so a lot of people tend to rush as sophomores and there's no issue with that. keep in mind that rushing can really impact your gpa. I've known people who were straight a students in high school but ended their first semester with gpas barely over 2.0 in my sorority and girls with almost 3.0s! it really all depends on the person
