Dear PNMs you should care less about the rank of a house and care more about how you are perceived by a house. Here are some things you should know about recruitment:
1.) It is NOT a mutual selection process… the houses pick you and if you are only invited back to 4 houses the second round too bad the other houses did not want you, make the best out of the houses that did
2.) Legacies do not mean anything unless you are like a triple maybe double legacy (this is different for each house)
3.) Do not feel the need to wear designer clothes, we can’t read the label of your outfits so do not spend tons of money on them
4.) Do not be rude to anyone in any of the houses since they have the power to report you to Panhel and get you kicked out of recruitment…So just be nice
5.) Make all your social media private right now if you haven’t already… rush chairs are creepy stalkers and will look through your social media (I only know of some rush chairs that do this/ not all houses)
6.) GPA matters… if you are below a sorority’s required GPA you will get cut..
7.) Some houses will cut you if you do not have the look that their chapter goes for. It does not matter how involved you were in hs… if you do not fit the part sorry you are not getting in
8.) If you played a sport in hs or are on a team at jmu that does matter to houses since they need to recruit girls that can participate in sport philanthropy events and play on intermural teams and sh.it
