Randolph-Macon College is a small liberal arts school in Ashland, Virginia, and with an undergraduate enrollment that hovers around 1,400 students, the Greek system here is genuinely woven into the fabric of daily campus life. A good chunk of the student body is affiliated, which means fraternities and sororities carry real social weight on campus.

On the fraternity side, IFC chapters include some well-known national names — Kappa Alpha Order, Kappa Sigma, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Theta Chi, and Phi Kappa Sigma are all active. Panhellenic sororities include Alpha Gamma Delta, Delta Zeta, and Kappa Alpha Theta. The campus also has NPHC representation through Iota Phi Theta and Alpha Kappa Alpha, which are part of the broader National Pan-Hellenic Council tradition.

Rush at a small school like RMC feels pretty personal. You're not dealing with massive recruitment events where you're just a face in the crowd. Because the student body is tight-knit, most people already have some familiarity with the chapters before formal recruitment even starts. Word of mouth and existing social connections play a big role in how students end up finding their fit.

Fraternities at RMC have chapter houses on or near campus, which gives the system a physical presence you can actually see and feel. Those houses are often where social life centers on weekends. Sororities at smaller liberal arts schools like this one typically don't maintain residential chapter houses, which is pretty standard for schools of this size and type.

Philanthropy is a consistent part of Greek culture here. Chapters regularly put on events tied to their national organizations' causes, and community service requirements are built into membership for most groups. RMC also has longstanding campus traditions that Greek organizations tend to be involved in, reinforcing how connected the Greek community is to the broader college experience at Ashland's small but active campus.
