Comment: I was a Sigma Kappa at Coastal 10 years ago. Here is my brutally honest review. During my years as a Sigma Kappa, I met some amazing people. My big, my littles, my grandlittles... everyone I actually surrounded myself with in this sorority was great. Outside of our family, it was a bunch of weirdos. You'd see a sister on campus, both of you wearing letters, and she'd blatantly ignore you. There's so much cliquiness. There are some normal, fun people in the chapter, but there are also a bunch of mean, judgmental, goodie-goodie weirdos. That's not sisterhood. Honestly, I don't know why I stayed for so long. I didn't get anything out of it except becoming better friends with girls I would've been friends with anyway, without forking out $600 or $700 a semester to be around them. In Sigma Kappa, you get your little group of friends, and outside of that, you're embarrassed by who else represents the letters you're wearing. No one really tries to get to know each other. I didn't try too hard either, because some of the girls just didn't belong there. You get vibes from people right away, and I got bad vibes from a lot of these girls, vibes I never would've wanted to turn into friendship, sisters or not. Everyone also acted like they were hot ****. We were not. There were some gorgeous girls in the chapter and some who weren't, no consistent look or vibe to the sorority at all. It's unfortunate that hasn't changed. The Instagram looks good, but it's clearly just a facade of sisterhood. I don't doubt for one second that the nasty reviews for other sororities are coming from a Sigma Kappa. They get posted around the same time Sigma Kappa is getting a wave of overly nice five star reviews, and that's not a coincidence. Whichever Sigma Kappa is doing this, you are the problem. Sigma Kappa is nothing close to how those rankings paint the other houses, which tells me those reviews were self written by Sigma Kappas trying to make themselves look better by tearing everyone else down. Open your eyes. Greek life doesn't mean anything outside of college. If image and popularity are all you care about, you're in the wrong sorority, and you're probably not in the ones with a strong campus reputation because you didn't get in. You wanted to, but you didn't. Simple as that. Accept the fact that you are mid and stop pretending this sorority is so amazing. Your idea of "sisterhood" is trash. Move on.
