I’m sure it did happen to many other people. It’s a shame that your RX misled you. I imagine she did it with the best of intentions-to calm your nerves. The truth of the matter is that when you attend a pref party, you are going to be somewhere on that sorority’s bid list. So you were on your #1’s bid list. It’s just they they filled to quota before your(and a lot of other girls) name came up. When that happens, the computer will go to your #2 and see where your name appears on that list. If #2 hasn’t filled to quota yet, your will have a bid to #2, and that’s what happened. I realize had the RX explained how it actually works, you would’ve enjoyed bid day more. But remember, you’re in a house that wanted you so make the most of it. Find your people within that house. Have fun going to swaps, and football games, and just hanging out at the house. Go have your meals at the house and sit with a different group every day until you find your girls. Ask some pledge sisters to grab a coffee with you. If there are sisters in your dorm walk with them to the house. Go out of your way to make connections, and I dare say that in a month you’ll be having the time of your life!
