My Rho Chi told me that whoever I put for my #1 was most likely (“over 95%”) who I would end up getting a bid from. On Bid Day, I opened my card to see my #2 pick. I won’t lie I was in a bit of shock and it felt like I was the only girl not cheering and celebrating. I’m ok with my #2 choice, it just wasn’t what I was expecting and I guess I’m just feeling a little rejected at the very last minute and didn’t have time to process that before having to go to this new house. There was a big difference between my 1 and 2 & 3. My first choice was a “top” sorority and my other two would be considered “low tier.” Obviously I’m not entitled to a bid just for putting them as my #1, but I just feel a little awful because I really hit it off with that sorority and I even have a friend whose an active in it. To be told the chances were so high just kind of broke my heart a bit. I feel like they picked all the girls they wanted but I was an “leftover” and I can’t stop wondering why I didn’t make the cut. Did this happen to anyone else?
