Maybe I didn’t say this in my first reply, but I’m still a fan of Phi Mu. I’m sure many PNMs are. But I do appreciate this post, because I think it is pretty crummy to take advantage of hopeful PNMs for the sole purpose of growing your Instagram clout. I get that people follow and unfollow people all the time, but it’s rude to follow hundreds of girls at a time knowing you’re going to dump them as soon as they follow you back. As a PNM, I feel trapped, like I can’t just unfollow her back or it could hurt me during rush. It seems worth bringing the topic up because if I was on the exec board of a sorority where a girl or girls are doing this, I would want to know about. It’s better for everyone on both sides of recruitment to not treat PNMs like a tally mark.
