Grades matter, but only so far. Do your grades make the houses National cut off? Do your grades make the chapters preferred cut off? I will say if your unweighted gpa is above a 3.6, your grades will pass all of the above and the rest relies on the rest of you. My BFF had a 4.3, presidential scholar and was dropped by houses that I kept at a 3.5. After grades, it comes to fit. And, some houses, especially OR, will hold on to legacy girls who don’t make their grade cut offs to make sure they do or don’t use a grade exception on them.
