I’m in one of these houses and they aren’t picked based on weight at all. Usually it’s girls who aren’t all that comfortable talking to strangers who volunteer, and they’re happier in the basement doing admin activities. Frankly yes sometimes there are girls assigned to admin activities but it’s usually personality/risk based. Also keep in mind that some houses, (usually old row) have alumnae who volunteer to come pour water and help set up, which means they don’t have to pull girls off the floor to do it. My house doesn’t have that advantage. Also I doubt there’s a house where EVERY girl is on the floor, someone has to do matching and make sure the voting system is working.
