It’s not that private school = money. Its more that it shows that the family is able to fulfill costly financial expectations for an extended time period(ex. Private school tuition, sorority dues, etc.) A lot of private schools have a very high number of girls who rush, so their families are fully aware of the cost associated with being Greek at Alabama and have no problem paying it for 4 years.
