Because girls from in state already know a TON about the sororities and know girls in almost all of them. You don’t really know what you want if you’re from out of state because you haven’t seen or interacted with these girls except through Instagram. You could get here and fall in love with a middle of the road or bottom house and hate what you thought would be your #1 Don’t stress about ranks, they seem like a big deal especially as a freshmen but I promise you THEY DONT MATTER. I’m in a house generally seen as top 3 from oos and haven’t had the greatest experience. Anyone who actually thinks being OR or NR is a big deal is a straight up loser and needs to re-examine their values
