And generally the houses with heavy alumna presence won't be so willing to allow these "new" girls in even if they tick the pretty/smart/fun box. Some of this thinking is well-founded because they're scared of taking risks because no one knows if she has a secret bad reputation back home, but the flip side is that these houses miss out on a lot of genuinely good PNMs. As an OOS Active on the other side, there are definitely girls form my area who look and act the part of a top PNM but if I didn't already know about her beforehand we would have been really embarrassed later.
