1. Greek life has a bad name in the media. Just this past year, there have been so many scandals across the nation that paint Greek life in a bad way. 2. It's expensive. I think that's the biggest deterrence for people. There are a ton of people who want to go Greek but simply can't justify spending 4,000-6,000 in just one semester. Just for rush, you have to spend hundreds of dollars, if not thousands, between signing up, buying clothes, shoes, etc. 3. Greek life at UA has peaked. We saw the largest rush class in UA and national history in 2016. We simply can't keep increasing the size of sorority life here.
