The experience your mother had was for her. It was her university experience and time period. You need to choose a chapter for you. It's very nice to have a connection with your mom via the same sorority, but it's not enough reason to rule out the opportunity to join an established chapter with lots of tradition, a big house (important) and a well-seasoned structure. If it were me, I would keep SK in mind but not any more than all the other chapters.
