I get that you miss your family back home. That is normal. You are missing friends too but keep in mind, those friends are likely also away at school. Even if one or two stayed home, the majority probably aren't home. So when you say you are missing home, you are missing something that is also most likely not the same anymore. Remind yourself of that when you start thinking of home and how it 'used' to be. You really have to put yourself out there the next few weeks. go to the house to study and to eat. Stay there. Force yourself to sit with new people that look like they have a group. Those groups that seem like they are formed right now are really groups most likely based on where people live. That will start to shift as the year goes on. Keep forcing yourself to show up.
