I know a girl who rushed in an outfit she made. Actives loved it. She ended up in a top OR house if that matters. I think it depends on the style of the clothing. If it's alternative looking or obviously handmade, it's not going to make as good of an impression than if it is really well made, looks expensive, and is on trend.
