I'm going to be blunt... You will have a slightly harder time abstaining from alcohol through college. I 100% respect your decision but a lot of people won't. You'll meet boys and girls who won't want to hang out with you because they don't think you're "fun" since you don't drink. You'll also meet a lot of people who will push you to drink... A lot of college students look at drinking as a norm and they think it's weird for those who willingly choose not to. Swaps are where a sorority has an exclusive party at a fraternity house. The girls tend to pregame together before they go over and there will be beer offered throughout the party. Date parties are where a sorority or fraternity buys out a venue and their actives can invite a guest. Fraternities have more wild themes, like the handcuffs and bottles thing you mentioned. Obviously, you can always attend these events sober. And you can even become the "mom" of your friend group. Or you can be a party monitor for your sorority's swaps and date parties. The biggest issue you'll find with abstaining from drinking is peer pressure.
