As you gett past the freshman need to meet people and get involved at a new place, devolop friends and connection and have places to go and socialize outside the house, the expense of membershio doesn't always seem to be a "good value". Even for people that can afford it, it can become a "value call" whether to spend thousands of dollars for something that seems superfluous. True, there are houses that attract more of the "my house is the center of my universe" types, which some call strong sisterhood, who retain more upperclassmen. Other houses, with more independent thinkers, who are called poor aiterhoods by some, have higher upperclassmen drop rates. \n\n\n\n\n
