<strong>Subject:</strong><br />Frat Rankings updated <br /><br /> Poster Message:
Obviously, some frats have been kicked off lately or come back recently, so I’m gonna give the current social standings of frats. Remember, higher rank definitely doesn’t equal better. It’s just about mixing/vibe: Core 4: AD/sig chi/sig phi/du Lower upper: chi psi/dx/sig pi Upper mid: ZBT/chi phi Mid: Lambda/pikapp/phi tau/pike Lower mid: PSK, SAE, Fiji, sig nu Low: everyone else Key: Core 4: mixes with top sororities, parties most nights of the week, lots of hazing, very wealthy kids from mainly NYC, westchester, increasingly Miami. If you fit into this category and want a fraternity that you commit all your time to, go for it. Beware though, you gotta start dirty rushing ASAP Lower upper: these fraternities often mix with the same sororities as the core 4, but aren’t their priority. Tends to be wealthy kids as well but a little less heavy on dirty rush, often guys who didn’t get into core 4. Upper mid: very well established and fratty group of guys. Will still be your entire life but less ultra-wealthy like the top houses Mid: join these fraternities if you want a well-balanced but still very involved fraternity experience. You will have mixers and parties every weekend, and maybe an event or 2 during the week, but it doesn’t dominate your life to the same extent. Usually good brotherhood too. Lower mid: most of these houses used to be higher but only recently came back to campus. They’ll pull in more occasional mixers with lower sororities, but banded parties/opens will be mainly the social vibe. Join these houses if you get along with the guys. Lower: most houses fall under this category, which might sound weird, but if you read everything I wrote, it’s about mixing. And there’s 40 frats and 10 sororities (approx). These houses might have terrible or great brotherhoods, depending, and the party culture mainly comes from big opens (since they can’t fill the room with sorority girls) or brotherhood events. I would say don’t join these houses on a whim. Only do so if you have really close friends in them.
