This whole “this chapter is full of snobs” or “that chapter is boring” discourse is so tired. Every single pledge class has, what, around 100 girls? Statistically alone, every chapter is going to have wild party girls, super sweet girls, awkward girls, snobby girls, chill girls, girls you love, girls you can’t stand, etc. That is literally how large groups of people work. No one is hanging out with their entire pledge class like they’re one giant hive mind. Every sorority has smaller friend groups based on personalities, interests, vibes, lifestyles, all of it. So acting like one chapter is entirely one “type” of girl is honestly just lazy and inaccurate at this point. Any perception otherwise is mostly people clinging to outdated stereotypes from 15 years ago. A huge part of what people think is the “best” chapter also comes from hometown bias. A lot of girls grow up hearing the same opinions from older girls, family friends, moms, or sisters, so they enter rush already believing certain houses are better before they’ve even met anyone. And the whole “KD is #1 and Chi O is #2” debate is kind of pointless because the two houses are incredibly similar. They recruit from the same pool, and plenty of girls could realistically end up in either depending on the year, connections, or who they clicked with most during rush. Some years one chapter has a stronger pledge class, then the next year it flips. That doesn’t make one objectively superior. Honestly, a lot of girls who are heavily recruited by KD or Chi O end up in KKG or Tri Delt anyway. Most of the genuinely cool girls across these chapters are friends or run in the same social circles, which is why the constant ranking arguments feel overblown. The main social distinction people quietly acknowledge is that Chi O girls tend to overlap more with Kappas socially, while KDs are usually closer with Tri Delts. Beyond that, the differences are way less dramatic than people online make them seem.
