Listen ladies, I know it is going to be hard to pick out a house and there's a lot of stereotypes flying around the different chapters, but you all are beautiful, smart, and amazing women and remember that as you rank. It can be tough seeing your bid lists after that first cut, but it's nothing to be sad about if you don't get what you think you wanted from the beginning. My advice is don't try to put a chapter over another just because of their "Tier", and don't get upset if you get cut from a top tier house. I remember going through rush and I put all of the "top tier" except for Chi O at the bottom of my list simply because I didn't click really well with any of the girls in those chapters. It was just my personal preference! My freshman year roommate ended up in a top house and loved it. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the top tier houses at IU - it was just that I thought I needed to be in one, and when I stopped thinking I would fit in there, I changed my focus on the others and ended up in an outstanding chapter that made me really happy to be in! In fact, I ended up putting only middle and lower tier houses in my top, and that's what I ended up with taking a bid from in the end! It was so worth it to me, because I was happier and enjoyed my time with my sorority and was able to take on lots of leadership opportunities and help make it even better than it already was. You can do it! Just don't go for the popularity contest, and instead make sure to focus on what makes you happy and what will make you a better person at the end of your four years at Indiana. ESPECIALLY that last part. Good luck!
