I didn’t rush freshman year and regretted it too. While you can winter rush, a limited number of sororities do winter rush, so if you are okay with not giving all of the sororities a try, then winter rush may be what you want to do. However, I focused on joining other clubs during the winter semester of my freshman year and met great friends. Then I went on to rush fall semester of my sophomore year. Although it is considerably harder, a lot of people rush as sophomores, so you will meet great people even rushing. Also, you will definitely get a bid from somewhere if you rush as a sophomore. Granted, it might be from one of the sororities that you could’ve joined in the winter. But, you will be happy that you actually did formal recruitment and joined a pledge class with 70 girls, rather than joining it alone. I ended up joining a sorority and am very happy that I rushed as a sophomore.
