You are confused, most chapters do not snap bid. That only happens if a chapter doesn't reach quota during bid matching and they snap bid to get to quota before bids are opened. Snap bidding is not common. What you are talking about is Continuous Open Bidding, which happens if a chapter is under Campus Total membership. Total is reset right after bid day based on average chapter size. That number this year will be higher because of larger NM classes and by the absence of Kappa, whose smaller membership brought down the average a bit. The crazy increase will not affect COB, Campus Total will, but that is proportional to the current membership numbers as usual. COB is def more of a thing for spring though, after December graduations make some openings.
