The point about fall rush also points out that Greek Organizations are the only student orgs at Penn State that students can’t join right away (feels discriminatory). So that is why national fraternities are pushing for more of their chapters to go independent. Note, the independent fraternities are rushing first semester freshmen and numbers are up. As of fall there will be more major fraternities that can do this (Acacia and Sigma Pi). While the better frats don’t allow freshmen girls at events, it still happens. So in reality PSU created more risk. Fall rush for all Greek orgs is the answer. On the Penn State IFC, it has been completely taken over by Penn State, which gets made if the chapter presidents try to have their meeting off campus (none of the PSU OFSL Staff will set foot in a fraternity house).
