These are not really different at all. 1. Pref round invitations work like any other round; the sororities do the choosing. The pnm's rankings are not considered by the sororities when they are making their invitation lists. In fact, the sororities do not ever see the pnm's ranks. If a sorority does not invite you to their pref, then you get one or both of your alternate choices. The two alternate choices should be ranked by the PNM, according to NPC rules. Are you really sure they are not ranked? That does not seem right. If one of her first pref choices releases her and first alternate invites her back then she gets those two; otherwise she would get the second alternate instead. If both her top two pref choices release her, then the algorithm would go to both of her alternates to see if she is on either or both of those invitation lists, always trying to give her the max of her options. 2. Dropping out or being dropped or suiciding doesn't affect being able to be snapped. NPC rules state that any pnm who went through at least the first round of formal rush, and was either dropped or decided to drop, or who didn't get her suicide choice, is eligible for a snap bid.
