Honestly, it is nothing more than a popularity and looks contest. The top houses appeal to mostly beautiful women/hot guys with poise and personality. Not to say the mid/bottom houses do not have attractive people with great personality, or the top houses don't have their share of average looking people, but tiers are based mainly on those factors alone.
