Rutgers University: One of the oldest universities
Dating back to 1766, Rutgers proudly began its run as Queen’s College. It is the eighth oldest college in the United States. Later it was reopened as Rutgers College in 1825 named after Colonel Rutgers, whose donation helped allow the school to reopen after past financial difficulties. It would later be renamed Rutgers University after introducing graduate education to the school.
